Post-wise Eligibility Criteria

Medical Officer – A recognized medical qualification included in the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, along with mandatory registration with the State Medical Council. Special training in Family Planning and preference for a postgraduate qualification is also considered.

Computer Programmer – A Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics (with Statistics), Operations Research or Physics, or a degree in Engineering/Computer Science, along with one year of programming experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Physics/Statistics with seven years of computer operation experience is also accepted.

Pharmacist Grade-II – Matriculation along with a Diploma in Pharmacy, and mandatory registration as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.

Library Attendant Grade-I – Matriculation with Science, a Diploma in Library Science, and at least one year of experience handling books and journals in a reputed library.

Animal Attendant – Matriculation with the ability to read and write in Hindi, English or Punjabi, along with basic knowledge of cleaning and dusting.

Barber – Matriculation with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience.

MTS (Sanitation) Grade-III – Matriculation or equivalent, with knowledge of sweeping, dusting and cleaning work.

Selection to these posts will be made through the following stages:

Stages of Selection

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) – The first and most important stage for every applicant.
2. Shortlisting – Based on CBT marks, candidates are shortlisted category-wise for document scrutiny.
3. Document Verification – Shortlisted candidates must appear in person with original certificates.
4. Interview – Applicable only for the Group ‘A’ post of Medical Officer, carrying 15 marks.
5. Final Merit List – For Group B & C posts, final selection is based purely on CBT marks. For the Group A post, both CBT and interview marks are combined.

There is no interview for Group B and C posts since the Government of India has done away with interviews for non-gazetted positions.

CBT Structure

• The exam will be conducted in English language only, in an objective (MCQ) format.
• Each correct answer carries 1 mark, while 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer.
• The minimum qualifying marks are 40% for General/EWS and 35% for SC/ST/OBC categories.
• The syllabus will be based on the educational qualification and experience prescribed for the respective post.
