ISRO SAC Recruitment 2026 | EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
For JRF (Post Code 01β07)
Candidates need a relevant M.E./M.Tech (or B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc. for Post Code 03) in disciplines such as Semiconductor Technology, Electronics & Communication, VLSI, Engineering Physics, Atmospheric Sciences, Meteorology, Computer Science, or Geo-informatics, depending on the post applied for.
Additionally, JRF applicants must have qualified at least one of the following:
- CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship), OR
- GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), OR
- A national-level exam conducted by bodies like DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER, etc.
For Research Associate (Post Code 08β10)
A Ph.D. in the relevant subject, OR an M.E./M.Tech with 3 years of research/teaching/design experience plus at least one research paper published in an SCI-listed journal.

The selection procedure for all posts (JRF, RA, and PS-I) is straightforward and consists of the following stages:
- Screening of Applications β Basic eligibility as per the prescribed qualification and age criteria will be checked.
- Shortlisting β If the number of applications received is high, candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on their academic record and subject specialisation. The decision of the SAC Committee will be final.
- Publication of Shortlist β The list of shortlisted candidates will be published only on the SAC website.
- Interview Call Letter β Sent only through registered email to shortlisted candidates. No communication is sent to non-shortlisted candidates.
- Personal Interview β Final selection is based purely on performance in the interview. There is no written examination.

For Research Associates, the pay level (1, 2, or 3) will be fixed based on the candidate’s qualification and prior experience.
