The Directorate General, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has released a fresh notification inviting online applications from meritorious sportspersons for the post of Head Constable (General Duty) and Constable (General Duty) under Sports Quota 2026. A total of 521 vacancies are on offer across 22 sports disciplines, including athletics, shooting, wrestling, boxing, hockey, football, kabaddi and more. Interested and eligible male and female candidates who are ordinarily residents of India can apply online from 12 October 2026 onward. Vacancies are spread across 22 sports disciplines such as Aquatics, Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Body Building, Boxing, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Karate, Shooting, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Water Sports, Weightlifting, Wushu, Wrestling and Yoga. Candidates should note that the discipline-wise breakup is tentative and may change at any stage of the recruitment process.

CRPF Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 | Education Qualification

• For Head Constable (GD): 10+2 (or equivalent) from a recognized Board/University.
• For Constable (GD): Matriculation (10th pass) or its equivalent from a recognized Board.

Sports Qualification (indicative)

Candidates must hold at least one of the following achievements within the last two years from the date of the advertisement:

• Represented India in an international competition, or
• Represented a State/UT in National Games/Championships with a medal or position up to 3rd place, or
• Secured 1st/2nd position (or reached finals in team events) in Inter-University tournaments, or
• Won a medal in Junior National level Games/Championships (for HC/GD), or represented State Schools/Khelo India Games with a podium finish (for CT/GD).

1. Identity Verification & Biometric Capture
2. Documentation – Verification of original certificates (educational, sports, caste, domicile, age proof).
3. Physical Standard Test (PST) – Height and chest measurement as per prescribed norms.
4. Sports Trial Test – Conducted by the Board of Officers; no separate marks awarded, only qualifying in nature. Candidates may also be subject to a dope test.
5. Merit List – Prepared purely on the basis of marks scored for sports achievements/certificates as per the marking table; ties are resolved by international-vs-national achievement, then by age, then alphabetically.
6. Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and, if required, Review Medical Examination (RME).

Selected candidates will also be entitled to Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance and other allowances admissible under CRPF rules, along with coverage under the National Pension System.

This recruitment does not involve a written examination. Selection is based entirely on:

1. Documentation and eligibility scrutiny
