The Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has released Advertisement No. 82/UOAOSOCOAO/2026 dated 15 September 2026, inviting online applications for direct recruitment to 200 Scaler posts (Group ‘C’) under the Uttarakhand Van Vikas Nigam (Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation). Eligible candidates who have passed Intermediate with Science or Mathematics can apply online from 22 September 2026 to 22 October 2026 through the official website www.sssc.uk.gov.in. Selection will be carried out in two stages — a qualifying Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test, followed by a written objective-type examination. Horizontal Reservation

• Candidates must have passed the Intermediate (12th) examination with Science or Mathematics from a board/council established by law in India, or from a recognized institution located in Uttarakhand.

Preferential Qualification

Other things being equal, preference in direct recruitment will be given to candidates who have:

• Served a minimum of two years in the Territorial Army, or
• Obtained a “B” or “C” certificate from the National Cadet Corps (NCC).

Selection to the post of Scaler will be completed in two stages:

Stage 1: Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

This is a qualifying stage covering height, chest measurement, eyesight, and a physical efficiency test (race, shot put, long jump, high jump). Only candidates declared successful here proceed to the next stage.

Stage 2: Written Competitive Examination

An objective-type multiple-choice written exam of 100 marks will be conducted offline for candidates who clear the PST/PET. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in this written exam.

• Type: Objective type, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
• Total Marks: 100
• Duration: 2 Hours
• Qualifying Marks: 45% for Unreserved/EWS/OBC candidates, 35% for SC/ST candidates
• Negative Marking: ¼ mark deducted for each wrong answer
• No Negative Marking for questions left unattempted
• Each question carries four answer options, and marking more than one option for a question will be treated as a wrong answer.
