The selection procedure differs slightly for each post, but broadly follows this pattern:
- Court Manager: Written Test followed by Viva-Voce (Interview)
- Clerk: Screening Test → Written Test → Typing Test → Document Verification
- Stenographer Grade-III: Screening Test → Stenography Test → Typing Test
- Driver: Screening Test → Driving Proficiency Test → Document Verification
- Process Server: Screening Test → Written Test & Evaluation
- Peon/Orderly/Chowkidar/Safai Karamchari: Merit-based shortlisting (1:3 ratio) using 10+2 marks (85 marks weightage) + Document Evaluation (15 marks), followed by final merit list

Note: Contract and Daily Wages appointees will receive wages/remuneration as fixed by the Government of Himachal Pradesh from time to time, rather than the regular pay matrix.
HP High Court Recruitment 2026 : Exam Pattern
- Clerk: Typing speed required is 30 WPM in English and 25 WPM in Hindi (Kruti Dev-10 font), tested after clearing the Screening Test.
- Stenographer Grade-III: Stenography speed of 80 WPM in English, with transcription to be completed within 5 times the dictation time. Typing speed required is 40 WPM in English and 30 WPM in Hindi. A maximum of 10% error is permitted in both stenography and typing; exceeding this disqualifies the candidate.
- Driver: Screening Test followed by a practical driving proficiency test.
- Process Server: Written test based on the syllabus published on the official website.
- The exact syllabus for the Screening Tests will be uploaded separately by the High Court on its recruitment portal.
