The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), Lucknow has issued Advertisement No. 17-Pariksha/2026 for recruitment to the post of Pashudhan Prasar Adhikari (Livestock Extension Officer) under the Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Government of Uttar Pradesh. This is the Main Examination stage for the post, and a total of 1251 vacancies (1248 regular + 3 under special selection) have been announced. Only those candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 and hold a valid PET-2025 score card are eligible to apply for this Main Exam. Only the online processing fee is applicable for this Main Exam; there is no separate examination fee at this stage. The fee for the Main Exam for shortlisted candidates will be charged separately later, before the admit card is released.

• Dependents of Freedom Fighters, Ex-Servicemen, Women, Divyang (PwD), and Outstanding Sportspersons will pay the fee applicable to their original/base category (Sr. No. 1 to 4 above).
• Fee can be paid via Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or SBI e-Challan.
• Fee for the Main Examination itself will be collected separately, only from candidates who get shortlisted, before they download their Main Exam admit card.

• Age will be calculated as on 1 July of the calendar year in which the direct recruitment vacancies are advertised.
• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 40 years
• Age relaxation is applicable to SC, ST, and other categories notified by the Government of Uttar Pradesh from time to time, as per prevailing rules.

UPSSSC Pashudhan Prasar Adhikari Recruitment 2026 : EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

As per the UP Animal Husbandry Department, Pashudhan Prasar evam Kukkut Vikas Seva Niyamawali, 2002 (as amended), candidates must have:

1. Passed Intermediate (10+2) examination with Biology group from the UP Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad or an equivalent recognized board.
2. A 2-year Diploma in Livestock Extension (Pashudhan Prasar) from a veterinary university/college established by law.
3. Working knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script is mandatory.

Preferential (Adhimani) Qualifications — given preference among otherwise equally qualified candidates:

• Minimum 2 years of service in the Territorial Army, OR
• Holder of a National Cadet Corps (NCC) ‘B’ Certificate, OR
• 15 years of continuous active service as Veterinary Dresser Grade-I/II in Remount Veterinary Corps, along with a pass in Science or Agriculture subject in High School or equivalent.

UPSSSC Pashudhan Prasar Adhikari Recruitment 2026 : SELECTION PROCESS

Selection for the post of Pashudhan Prasar Adhikari is done through a written examination only (no interview), as per UP Group ‘C’ Direct Recruitment (Procedure) Rules, 2015 and the two-tier examination system adopted by UPSSSC:

1. Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 — Candidates must have already appeared and obtained a valid score card.
2. Shortlisting for Main Exam — Based on category-wise normalized PET-2025 score, candidates are shortlisted at 15 times the number of advertised vacancies (including all candidates tied at the cut-off normalized score, up to two decimal places).
3. Main Written Examination — This is the exam this notification is for; the final merit list will be prepared based on marks scored here.

Candidates who scored zero, negative, or an absolute/normalized score below the eligible threshold in PET-2025 will not be shortlisted for this Main Exam.

• Login: Visit the official website upsssc.gov.in, go to the Live Advertisement Segment, and locate Advertisement No. 17-Pariksha/2026. Login using your PET-2025 Registration Number and verify via OTP sent to your registered mobile number/email.
• Verify Personal Details: Your personal details (name, parents’ name, category, EWS status, horizontal reservation details, date of birth, gender, marital status, contact details) recorded during PET-2025 will auto-display. Verify them carefully.
• Select Post: Review the post details and select the post(s) you wish to apply for. Selection is mandatory to be considered.
• Educational Qualification: Choose Yes/No for possessing the required qualification, then enter board/university name, year of passing, certificate/roll number, date of issue, and marks details.
• Photo & Signature: Your photo and signature from PET-2025 will auto-display; these cannot be changed at this stage. Click “Continue” after reviewing.
• Other Details: Select Yes/No for any preferential qualification. Your permanent and correspondence address from PET-2025 will auto-display.
