The Office of the Commissioner, Medical Education, Chhattisgarh (Directorate of Medical Education, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar) has released a recruitment notice for filling Class-III (Group C) contractual posts in the state’s newly established government nursing colleges. As per Department order No. ESTB-148/78/2025/55-MED dated 05 March 2026, a total of 81 posts are to be filled across 9 nursing colleges located at Balrampur, Baikunthpur, Bijapur, Dantewada, Janjgir-Champa, Jashpur, Kurud-Dhamtari, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, and Pusaur-Raigarh.

Eligible domicile candidates of Chhattisgarh can apply online through the official recruitment portal. The recruitment will follow the provisions of the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Contract Appointment) Rules, 2012 and the relevant departmental recruitment rules. Selection is based on academic marks, a qualifying skill test, work experience, and bonus marks for COVID-19 service in government institutions. The initial contract period is 2 years, extendable based on performance review.

CGDME Nursing College Bharti 2026 : AGE LIMIT

(as on 01 January 2026)

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 35 years

Age Relaxation

Overall cap: After availing any/all relaxations, the maximum age for entry into government service cannot exceed 45 years.

For retired government employees, the contract appointment can be given for a maximum of 10 years or up to the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier.

Each of the 9 nursing colleges has an identical set of 9 sanctioned Class-III posts (with minor category-wise variation), making a total of 81 posts state-wide.

Post-Wise Break-up (per college)

Reservation benefits (SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwD/Ex-servicemen) will apply as per Chhattisgarh Public Service (Reservation) Act, 1994 and related rules. Women candidates get 30% horizontal reservation; PwD candidates get 7% reservation as per the RPwD Act 2016.

CGDME Nursing College Bharti 2026 : EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION 

Note: Posts of Office Superintendent, Assistant Grade-1, Assistant Grade-2/Accountant, and Store Keeper are promotional posts under departmental rules; hence, candidates need the qualification of the original feeder post PLUS the required work experience.

For retired government employees, educational qualification norms are relaxed for posts equivalent to their last held position, except where judicial experience is mandated by law.

Selection is based on 100 marks, distributed as follows:

For Post No. 1, 3, 4, 5 & 7 (Office Superintendent, Assistant Grade-1, Assistant Grade-2/Accountant, Store Keeper, Assistant Grade-3):

• A waiting list will also be published along with the final selection list, valid for the specified period as per the notice.
• In case of a tie in marks, the older candidate (by date of birth) will get preference.
• Document verification is mandatory for shortlisted/merit-listed candidates before final appointment.
• Character verification (police verification) and a medical fitness certificate from the District Hospital Medical Board are mandatory before joining.

CGDME Nursing College Bharti 2026 : SALARY / PAY SCALE

As per Rule 12 of the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Contract Appointment) Rules, 2012, contractual employees receive only a fixed monthly consolidated (lump-sum) remuneration — no special pay, dearness allowance, compensatory allowance, house rent allowance, or annual increment is admissible (except for retired government servants, whose contract pay is calculated based on last drawn pay minus pension, plus applicable DA/HRA/CCA as per rules).

Contractual employees must deposit at least 10% of their contract salary towards a life insurance pension scheme or PPF for family social security (this provision does not apply to retired government servants).

CGDME Nursing College Bharti 2026 : EXAM PATTERN

This recruitment does not involve a traditional written examination. Instead, selection uses a marks-based merit system + qualifying skill test:

1. Merit Calculation: 80% weightage is given to the candidate’s aggregate percentage in the essential academic qualification (Graduation / Diploma / B.Sc. Nursing, as applicable).
2. Skill Test (Qualifying in Nature):

• Assistant/Office Superintendent posts: Typing speed test of 5,000 key depressions per hour (Hindi or English).
• Stenographer Grade-3: Typing 10,000 KDPH along with a shorthand test (100 wpm).
• Warden post: No separate skill test; selection is purely on academic merit + experience + COVID bonus.

3. Bonus Marks: Up to 10 marks for relevant work experience and up to 10 marks for COVID-19 pandemic service in a government health institution (minimum 6 months continuous service).
4. Total: 100 marks, and the merit list is prepared accordingly.
5. Skill tests will be conducted by the concerned Nodal Nursing College.

Candidates shortlisted for document verification must carry the originals plus two self-attested photocopies of the following:

• 2 recent passport-size photographs
• Aadhaar Card (for identity proof)
• All mark sheets (High School onward)

• Caste Certificate (issued by competent authority, for reserved category candidates)
• Work Experience Certificate & No Objection Certificate (NOC) from current/previous employer (government/semi-government/government-funded institutions)
