Candidates need to pay the examination fee online while filling up the application form. The fee structure is as follows:

• General/UR & other unreserved category candidates: ₹700/-
• SC, ST, and PwD category candidates: Exempted from fee payment
• Payment can be made through Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, or Wallet
• The fee will be refunded only to those candidates who appear in both papers of the written examination

Odisha PSC Assistant Agriculture Engineer Vacancy 2026 : Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the post of Assistant Agriculture Engineer must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Engineering from a University or Institution recognized by any State Government or the Central Government.

Important points to note:

• No equivalent qualification other than a Degree in Agriculture Engineering will be accepted
• Candidates must also be able to read, write, and speak Odia, verified through one of the recognized qualifying criteria (Middle School Odia, Matriculation with Odia medium, Class VII Odia, or an Odia proficiency test conducted by the Odisha Government)

Odisha PSC Assistant Agriculture Engineer Vacancy 2026 : Selection Process

Selection to the post of Assistant Agriculture Engineer will be made through a two-stage competitive process:

1. Written Examination – Objective type (MCQ pattern), evaluated through OMR
2. Personality Test (Interview)

The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined marks scored in the Written Examination and Interview, out of a total of 225 marks, category-wise, matching the number of advertised vacancies.

In case of a tie in aggregate marks, preference will be given based on higher marks in the written exam, and if that is also equal, the older candidate will be ranked higher.

Selected candidates will be appointed on a permanent basis and will draw a salary of:

• Pay Scale: ₹44,900/- (Level-10, Cell-1 of the Pay Matrix under ORSP Rules, 2017)
• Pre-revised equivalent: PB-2 ₹9,300–34,800/- with Grade Pay of ₹4,600/-
• Usual Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances will be applicable as per Government of Odisha norms

Note: Candidates appointed on or after 1 January 2005 will not be eligible for the old pension scheme and will instead be covered under the Contributory Pension Scheme (NPS).

The Written Examination carries a total of 200 marks, divided into two papers:

Key Points:

• Each question carries 1 mark
• Negative marking: 0.25 marks (25%) will be deducted for every wrong answer
• No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions
• The Personality Test/Interview carries 25 marks
• Total marks for final merit: 225 (200 Written + 25 Interview)
• Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks fixed by the Commission to be shortlisted for interview, generally in a ratio of about 1:2 of the advertised vacancies
