PSSSB Punjab Clerk Recruitment 2026 : Educational Qualification
- A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution, or its equivalent.
- Along with the degree, candidates must possess at least a 120-hour computer course (Personal Computers/IT in Office Productivity or Desktop Publishing Applications) from a government-recognized or ISO 9001-certified institution, OR a Computer Information Technology course equivalent to the ‘O’ level certificate of DOEACC, Government of India.
- Punjabi language up to Matriculation level (or equivalent) is mandatory as per Rule 17 of the Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994.
- Candidates must score at least 50% marks in the qualifying Matric-level Punjabi test conducted alongside the written exam; failing to do so disqualifies the candidate from the final merit list regardless of other scores.
- The cut-off date to determine educational qualification is the last date of application submission.
PSSSB Punjab Clerk Recruitment 2026 : Selection Process
- Written Examination – Objective type (Multiple Choice Questions), conducted in two parts:
- Part A: Matric-level Punjabi language paper – qualifying in nature only; candidates must score at least 50% marks to qualify.
- Part B: Determines the merit list. Each correct answer carries 1 mark; negative marking of ¼ mark applies for every wrong answer.
- Typing Test – Shortlisted candidates (as decided by the competent authority) must clear a typing test at 30 words per minute in both English and Punjabi, conducted on computer. The Punjabi typing test uses the Unicode-compliant Raavi font. This test is qualifying in nature only.
- Common Merit List – Prepared based on Part-B written exam marks of candidates who clear the typing test.
- Counselling & Document Verification – Candidates are called for counselling in order of merit for verification of original documents, category certificates, age, and educational qualification proofs.
- Tie-Breaking Rule – In case of equal marks, preference is given first to the older candidate (by date of birth), then to higher marks in the qualifying educational qualification, and finally to higher Matriculation marks.
Merit lists remain valid only against demand letters received up to 30 September 2026; vacancies from demand letters received after this date will not be filled from this merit list.

- Click on the “Apply Online” link related to Advertisement No. 02 of 2026 (Clerk).
- New candidates: Click “Registration” and fill in your details to generate a User ID and Password. Save this User ID for future reference. Existing candidates: Log in directly with your registered User ID.
