A total of 25 vacancies have been announced for postings in Chennai and other locations across Tamil Nadu. IOB Security Guard Recruitment 2026 | Educational Qualification

• Candidate must have passed 10th Standard (Matriculation) or its equivalent examination.
• Candidates who have already completed a graduation degree are not eligible to apply for this post.
• Candidates must be able to speak, read and write in Tamil.
• Ex-Servicemen without the above civil qualification but holding an Army Special Certificate of Education (or equivalent from Navy/Air Force) after completing 15+ years of service are also eligible.

IOB Security Guard Recruitment 2026 | Selection Process

Selection for the Security Guard post will be made through a three-stage process:

1. Online Objective Type Test
2. Local Language Test (Tamil)
3. Physical Fitness Test

Final merit will be prepared by combining marks scored in the Online Test, Local Language Test and Physical Fitness Test, category-wise.

IOB Security Guard Recruitment 2026 | Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be placed in the Subordinate Staff cadre pay scale as per the 12th Bipartite Settlement:

₹19,500 – 665/4 – 22,160 – 830/5 – 26,310 – 990/4 – 30,270 – 1,170/3 – 33,780 – 1,345/3 – 37,815

Basic pay will be fixed based on the candidate’s last drawn salary during defence service, along with other allowances as per the Bank’s Bipartite Settlement and internal policies. Selected candidates will be on probation for six months.

IOB Security Guard Recruitment 2026 | Exam Pattern

A. Online Objective Test (Total: 80 Marks)

B. Local Language Test (Tamil): 20 Marks

C. Physical Fitness Test (Total: 100 Marks, Qualifying: 65 Marks)

Candidates must qualify individually in each of the four physical fitness sub-tests, irrespective of category.

• Valid Physical Fitness Test Call Letter (printout)
• Printout of submitted online application form
• Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate / 10th Certificate)
• Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID, Driving Licence)
• Educational qualification mark sheets and certificates
• Discharge Book
• Ex-Servicemen Identity Card

• OBC Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (if applicable)
• Income & Asset Certificate for EWS candidates (if applicable)

Note: Ration Card and Learner’s Driving Licence are not accepted as valid ID proof.
