UPESSC Special TET 2026: Notification Out for 3rd Nov Exam, Check Eligibility, Dates & Apply Online

UPESSC Special TET 2026 notification has been officially released by the Uttar Pradesh Shiksha Sewa Chayan Aayog (UPESSC), Prayagraj, under Advertisement No. 03/2026. This exam has been introduced following recent Supreme Court directions that make TET compulsory for all serving teachers, along with an earlier court order concerning around 2,500 special teacher (CWSN) posts at the primary and upper primary level.

Teachers currently working in state-run, aided, and recognized local body schools at the primary and upper primary level, along with contractual CWSN special educators, can apply online from 5th September 2026. The last date to pay the application fee is 4th October 2026, and the exam is scheduled for 3rd November 2026. Interested and eligible candidates should read the full notification carefully before applying, as no individual counselling on eligibility will be provided by the Commission.

Educational Qualification

UPESSC Special TET 2026 | EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

For Regular Teachers (Primary & Upper Primary Level):

  • No fresh degree/qualification is asked for in this notification — candidates are already serving teachers who meet the qualification required for their current teaching post. Candidates simply need to enter their eHRMS Code while filling the online application.

For CWSN Special Teachers (Contractual) — Primary Level (Class 1–5):

  • Must hold a Graduate degree along with a D.Ed in Special Education (or equivalent) recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

For CWSN Special Teachers (Contractual) — Upper Primary Level (Class 6–8):

  • Must hold a Graduate degree along with a B.Ed in Special Education (or equivalent) recognized by RCI.

Common Requirement for CWSN Candidates:

  • Must possess an active CRR (Central Rehabilitation Register) number along with a valid RCI registration certificate.
Eligibility

UPESSC Special TET 2026 | ELIGIBILITY

A) Regular Teachers — Primary Level:

  • Must be currently working in a Primary Level school (Class 1–5) that is run by the State Government, aided, or affiliated/recognized by the Basic Shiksha Parishad or local bodies.
  • Eligible to apply for the Primary Level Special TET.

B) Regular Teachers — Upper Primary Level:

  • Must be currently working in an Upper Primary/Junior High School Level school (Class 6–8) that is government-run, aided, or recognized by the Basic Shiksha Parishad, Secondary Education Council, or local bodies.
  • Eligible to apply for the Upper Primary Level Special TET.

C) CWSN Special Educators (Contractual):

  • Must currently be working on a contract/deliverable basis as a Special Educator at the primary or upper primary level, as applicable.
  • Must meet the educational qualification and RCI/CRR criteria listed above.

  • Total Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes)
  • Question Type: All questions are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with 4 options each

Candidates should keep the following documents/details ready in the prescribed format and size before applying online:

  • eHRMS Code (for regular teachers) or active CRR number with RCI registration certificate (for CWSN Special Educators)
  • High School / equivalent certificate (for date of birth verification — this is the only document accepted for DOB)
  • Graduation certificate/marksheet
  • D.Ed/B.Ed in Special Education certificate (for CWSN candidates), RCI-recognized
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC) in the prescribed UP Government format, if applicable
  • EWS certificate in the prescribed format (valid for the preceding financial year), if applicable
  • Disability certificate in the prescribed format, if applicable
  • Freedom fighter dependent certificate in the prescribed format, if applicable
  • Scanned signature on white background (JPG/JPEG, 10 KB–200 KB, resolution 140×110 pixels)
  • Scanned passport-size photograph (JPG/JPEG, 30 KB–300 KB, resolution 300–600 pixels)
  • All uploaded certificates/documents must be in PDF format, sized between 50 KB and 500 KB
💻 How to Apply

UPESSC Special TET 2026 | HOW TO APPLY ONLINE

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to www.upessc.up.gov.in.
  2. Complete One Time Registration (OTR): Every candidate must first complete OTR before proceeding to the application — this is mandatory.
  3. Fill the Online Application Form: Enter your eHRMS code (regular teachers) or CRR/RCI registration number (CWSN candidates), along with personal, educational, and category details. The form must be filled in English only.
  4. Upload Documents: Upload your scanned photograph, signature, and required certificates as per the specified format and size.
  5. Pay the Application Fee: Use the online payment gateway (Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking) to pay the applicable fee before 4th October 2026.
  6. Review and Submit: Carefully check all details — category, sub-category, date of birth, and gender cannot be changed after final submission.
  7. Make Corrections (if needed): Use the correction window open till 8th October 2026 to fix any factual/clerical errors (category, DOB, and gender changes are not allowed even during correction).
  8. Download Confirmation/Print Application: Save a copy of the submitted form and the fee payment receipt for future reference.
  9. Download Admit Card: Once released, download your admit card from the official website using your registration number/mobile number and date of birth.

Important: If a candidate submits more than one application, only the last submitted application will be considered valid; all earlier ones will be rejected.
