Age Relaxation:
Age Relaxation
Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be eligible for age relaxation as per the applicable Government of India rules.

SC/ST candidates will receive an age relaxation of 5 years.

OBC candidates belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer category will receive an age relaxation of 3 years.

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) will receive an age relaxation of 10 years.

Education Qualification

IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2027 Education Qualification

Candidates applying for IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2027 must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university.

The important educational qualification requirements are as follows:

  1. The final result of graduation must have been declared by August 21, 2026.

  2. Candidates must have a valid marksheet or degree certificate.

  3. Applicants will be required to enter their graduation percentage while filling out the application form.

  4. Candidates whose marks are mentioned in CGPA or grades must convert them into a percentage according to the rules of their university.

  5. Candidates must have basic knowledge of computers.

  6. Applicants must possess a certificate, diploma, or degree in Computer Operation, Computer Language, or Information Technology. Alternatively, they must have studied Computer or Information Technology as a subject in school or college.

  7. Candidates must have knowledge of the specified local language of the State or Union Territory for which they are applying.

Selection Process

The selection process is conducted in multiple stages to shortlist the most suitable candidates for appointment in participating Public Sector Banks.

Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination is an online objective test. Candidates must qualify the sectional as well as overall cut-off decided by IBPS to become eligible for the Main Examination.

Stage 2 – Main Examination

Only candidates shortlisted from the Preliminary Examination will appear for the Main Examination. Marks obtained in the Main Examination are considered for the final merit list and provisional allotment.

Stage 3 – Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)

Candidates applying for a particular State or Union Territory must be proficient in the specified local language. Those who cannot produce the required educational proof of studying the local language will have to appear in the Local Language Proficiency Test before joining. Candidates failing this test will not be offered appointment.

Stage 4 – Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates must produce all original documents supporting their eligibility, educational qualification, category, age, and other claims. Failure to produce valid documents may result in cancellation of candidature.

Stage 5 – Provisional Allotment

Final allotment to a participating bank will be based on:

  • Performance in the Main Examination
  • Merit Rank
  • Bank Preference submitted by the candidate
  • State/UT-wise vacancies
  • Reservation guidelines

Once a bank is allotted, no request for change will be accepted.

Salary / Pay Scale

IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2027 Clerk Salary

The basic pay for the Customer Service Associate post starts at ₹24,050. With regular increments and other applicable benefits, the salary scale can increase up to ₹64,480.

In addition to the basic pay, employees may receive Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, medical facilities, and other allowances and benefits as per the rules of the respective bank.

Exam Pattern

IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2027 Exam Pettern

The IBPS Clerk recruitment examination will be conducted in two stages: the Preliminary Examination and the Main Examination. Candidates must qualify in both examinations as per the minimum cut-off marks prescribed by IBPS.

Preliminary Examination Pattern

The Preliminary Examination will consist of three sections:

  • English Language: 30 questions carrying 30 marks, with a time limit of 20 minutes.

  • Numerical Ability: 35 questions carrying 35 marks, with a time limit of 20 minutes.

  • Reasoning Ability: 35 questions carrying 35 marks, with a time limit of 20 minutes.

The Preliminary Examination will contain a total of 100 questions for 100 marks, and the total duration will be 60 minutes. Separate time will be allotted for each section. Candidates must secure the minimum cut-off marks prescribed by IBPS in all three sections.

Main Examination Pattern

The Main Examination will include four sections:

  • General/Financial Awareness: 40 questions carrying 50 marks, with a time limit of 20 minutes.

  • General English: 40 questions carrying 40 marks, with a time limit of 35 minutes.

  • Reasoning Ability: 40 questions carrying 60 marks, with a time limit of 35 minutes.

  • Quantitative Aptitude: 40 questions carrying 50 marks, with a time limit of 35 minutes.

The Main Examination will consist of 160 questions carrying a total of 200 marks, and the total duration will be 125 minutes. Candidates will be required to secure the minimum qualifying marks in each subject as well as in the overall examination.

Negative Marking

Negative marking will be applicable in both the Preliminary and Main Examinations. For every incorrect answer, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question, equivalent to 0.25 marks, will be deducted. No marks will be deducted for questions left unanswered.

Examination Language

The English Language section will be conducted only in English. For the other sections, candidates will be given the option to choose from the languages available for the respective State or Union Territory.

In some states, the examination may be conducted in Hindi and English along with the local language. Candidates should carefully select their preferred examination medium while completing the application form.

Local Language Proficiency Test

Candidates applying for a particular State or Union Territory must have knowledge of the specified local language of that region. Candidates are expected to be able to:

  • Read the local language.

  • Write the local language.

  • Speak the local language.

  • Understand the local language.

Candidates who have studied the relevant local language in Class 10 or any higher class and possess the corresponding marksheet or certificate may be exempted from appearing in the Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT).

Follow these steps to complete the online application:

  3. Click on the application link for CRP CSA-XVI.

  4. Select the “New Registration” option.

  5. Enter your name, mobile number, and email ID.

  6. Save the provisional registration number and password generated by the system.

  7. Fill in your personal, educational, and category-related details.

  8. Upload your photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration.

  9. Carefully enter your preferred State/Union Territory and bank preferences.

  10. Pay the application fee online.

  11. After final submission, save a printout of the completed application form and e-receipt for future reference.

Candidates must be extremely careful while entering details such as their name, mobile number, email ID, State/Union Territory, post, and nationality. Changes to these details may not be allowed after the application form has been submitted.

Application Form Correction

After the registration process ends, candidates will be given a limited opportunity to make corrections to their application form. The edit window is expected to remain open for approximately two days.

Candidates will have to pay a correction fee of ₹200. This fee will be the same for candidates belonging to all categories and will be non-refundable after payment.

Once the correction window closes, no request to modify any information in the application form will be accepted.
