Income Tax Pune Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 : Selection Process
This recruitment is completely merit-based on sports achievements. There is no written examination for the sports quota selection. The selection follows the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) order of preference as under:
Order of Preference for Sports Merit
- First Preference: Candidates who have represented India in an International Competition with the clearance of the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
- Second Preference: Candidates who have represented a State/UT in Senior or Junior National Championships organized by National Sports Federations (recognized by the Ministry) or National Games organized by the Indian Olympics Association, and have won medals or positions up to 3rd place. Senior National Championship medalists shall be preferred over Junior level.
- Third Preference: Candidates who have represented a University in Inter-University competitions conducted by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) / Inter University Sports Board (IUSB) or Khelo India University Games, and have won medals or positions up to 3rd place in finals.
- Fourth Preference: Candidates who have represented a State/UT in Khelo India Youth Games (age category above 18 years), Khelo India Winter Games, or Khelo India Para Games, and have won medals or positions up to 3rd place in finals.
- Fifth Preference: Candidates who have represented State Schools in National Sports/Games for Schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation, and have won medals or positions up to 3rd place.
- Sixth Preference: Candidates who have represented a State/UT/University/State Schools Teams at the levels mentioned in categories (B) to (E) above but could not win a medal, in the same order of preference.
Tie-Breaking Rules
- In case of a tie, candidates who secured a higher position or won more than one medal may be given preference.
- Participation in individual and team events shall be given the same preference.
- No preference is given merely for winning more than one medal in the same event.
Post-Selection Requirements
- Skill Test: Candidates selected for Stenographer and Tax Assistant posts must qualify in a skill test.
- Document Verification: Original certificates must be produced when called.
- Medical Fitness: To be ascertained by the Office of Pr.CCIT, Pune before formal appointment.
- Police Verification: Appointment is subject to clearance from police authorities of the candidate’s current place of residence.
- Doping Clearance: Candidates must be clear in all doping tests conducted by WADA/NADA and must submit a declaration confirming no pending investigation regarding doping or unfair means.
