SSC JE Recruitment 2026 | EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

Educational qualification varies by post and organization, but broadly includes:

• JE (Civil): Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute (some posts also require 2 years’ relevant work experience where only a diploma is held).
• JE (Electrical/Mechanical): Degree/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
• JE (Telecom): Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications or Information Technology.
• Scientific Assistant (IMD): Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Physics as one of the subjects (or equivalent, as detailed in the notification).

Qualification must be from a recognized University/Institute/Board, and must be held as on the closing date of the online application.

SSC JE 2026 selection is conducted in the following stages:

1. Paper-I – Computer Based Examination (Qualifying in nature)
2. Paper-II – Computer Based Examination (Merit-based)
3. Document Verification (DV)
4. Medical Examination (for applicable posts like BRO)

Only candidates who qualify Paper-I are shortlisted for Paper-II. Final merit is based on normalized marks scored in Paper-II.

SSC JE Recruitment 2026 | SALARY / PAY SCALE

• Pay Level: Level-6 of the Pay Matrix (7th Central Pay Commission)
• Pay Scale: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400/- per month
• Post classified as Group ‘B’
• In addition to basic pay, selected candidates are entitled to DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Central Government norms.

Paper-I

Paper-II

Key Points:

• Both papers are Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) only.
• Questions are set in both Hindi and English.
• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer in Paper-I; 1 mark deducted per wrong answer in Paper-II.
• Paper-I is qualifying in nature; final merit is based on Paper-II only.
• A scientific calculator is provided on-screen during the exam; no physical calculator is allowed.
