Step 1: Shortlisting
If applications are high, candidates will be shortlisted in a 1:25 ratio per vacancy in each trade and category. Merit is calculated with equal weightage (50:50) of Class 10th marks and ITI consolidated marks. For Crane Operator it is 100% Class 10th, and for Rigger 100% Class 8th.
Step 2: Written Examination
Shortlisted candidates appear for an OMR based objective test. The exam is expected in Mumbai and nearby areas like Thane and Kandivali.
Step 3: Merit List and Tie-Break
Merit is prepared on written exam marks. If marks are equal, the older candidate ranks higher. If date of birth is also the same, alphabetical order of the first name is used.
Step 4: Document Verification and Medical
Selected candidates go through original document verification and must submit a medical fitness certificate from a government hospital.
