Key points to note:

• The qualifying degree must be recognised by a UGC-approved university, AICTE-approved institution, or the relevant statutory board.

• The aggregate percentage is worked out by averaging marks across all years/semesters and is not rounded off.
• Where a university issues CGPA instead of percentage, the university’s own conversion formula applies; if none exists, CGPA is multiplied by 10, subject to documentary proof.
• Candidates with an integrated 5-year BE/B.Tech + ME/M.Tech dual degree in the relevant discipline are also eligible.

MRPL’s selection process for this recruitment involves no separate written test — everything is anchored to a candidate’s GATE 2026 performance. The stages are:

1. Screening on GATE 2026 marks: Only candidates with a valid, currently applicable GATE 2026 score are considered. Marks from any earlier or other GATE year will not be counted.
2. Shortlisting ratio: Candidates are called for the next stage in a 1:5 ratio (one post to five candidates), based on category-wise reservation. In case of a tie in GATE marks, the candidate with higher marks in the qualifying degree is given preference.
3. Group Discussion (GD)
4. Personal Interview (PI)
5. Final Merit List: Prepared according to MRPL’s internal rules, combining performance across the above stages.

Apart from basic pay, selected candidates will also receive Dearness Allowance (on IDA pattern), HRA or township accommodation, cafeteria-based perks and allowances, and Performance Related Pay, as per company rules. Selected candidates are placed under training-cum-probation and must execute a service bond: ₹3,00,000 for General category candidates and ₹50,000 for EWS/OBC(NCL)/SC/ST/PwBD candidates, committing to a minimum of three years of service including the probation period.
