APPSC Group 1 Recruitment 2026 | Educational Qualification

The educational qualification for APPSC Group 1 Recruitment 2026 varies slightly by post:

For Post Codes 01, 02, 03, 05 to 13

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized university in India (established under a Central Act, State Act, Provincial Act, or an institution recognized by the UGC), or an equivalent qualification.

For Post Code 04 (DSP – Communications)

Candidates must hold a B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, or Radio Engineering, from a recognized university, or an equivalent qualification.

APPSC will select candidates for Group 1 Services through a three-stage process:

Stage 1: Screening Test (Preliminary Examination)

An offline, objective-type, OMR-based test consisting of two papers.

Stage 2: Mains Examination (Descriptive Type)

A written exam with qualifying Telugu and English papers, plus five main papers covering Essay, History & Geography, Polity & Ethics, Economy, and Science & Technology.

Stage 3: Interview

Candidates who clear the Mains exam will be called for a personal interview carrying 75 marks.
