APPSC Recruitment 2026 | EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Candidates must hold a Graduate Degree from any UGC-recognized university incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India, or any institution declared a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.
- Candidates who have appeared, or intend to appear, in their final qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. However, their admission to the exam will be provisional, and they must produce proof of passing the qualifying degree at the time of the Interview/Viva-Voce of the Main Examination.
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory for All Applicants):
- Permanent Residence Criterion – The candidate must be an Indian citizen and hold a valid Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) of Arunachal Pradesh.
- Indigenous Status & APST Criterion – The candidate must hold a valid Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) Certificate as per the list notified under the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1950.
- Indigenous Tribal Language Proficiency Criterion – The candidate must be able to speak an indigenous tribal language of Arunachal Pradesh and possess working knowledge of the local tribes.
APPSC Recruitment 2026 | SELECTION PROCESS
The APPSCCE-2026 selection process is conducted in two successive stages:
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Screening Test)
Objective-type test used only to shortlist candidates for the Main Exam. Marks scored here are not counted for the final merit list.
Stage 2: Main Examination (Written + Interview)
- Written Examination: 8 subjective papers, based on the syllabus notified by APPSC.
- Interview/Viva-Voce: Personality test carrying 275 marks, conducted for candidates in the ratio of 1:3 of the advertised vacancies.
Additional Points:
- Around 12 times the number of advertised vacancies will be called for the Main Examination.
- Candidates applying for Arunachal Pradesh Police Service (APPS) posts must also qualify the Physical Standard, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Medical Standard as per the APPS Rules, 1989 (amended 2022).
