Category-Wise Vacancy Breakup

SSC CHSL Recruitment 2026 | Educational Qualification

• For LDC/JSA and most DEO posts: Candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognised Board or University.
• For DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, SSC, and Ministry of Culture: Candidates must have passed Class 12 in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject.
• Candidates who have appeared for their Class 12 exam can also apply, but they must possess the qualification by the cut-off date, i.e., 07 October 2026.

SSC CHSL Recruitment 2026 | Selection Process

Selection to LDC/JSA and DEO posts will be made through the following stages:

Tier-I – Computer Based Examination

Objective type multiple-choice questions covering English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness.

Tier-II – Computer Based Examination

Includes four sections – Mathematical Abilities & Reasoning, English Language & General Awareness, Computer Knowledge Test, and a Skill Test/Typing Test.

Document Verification (DV)

Shortlisted candidates will need to appear for document verification conducted by the concerned user department/ministry after the final result is declared.

Tier-I Exam Pattern

• Each subject carries a sectional timer of 15 minutes.
• Negative Marking: 0.50 marks deducted for every wrong answer.

Tier-II Exam Pattern

• Tier-II will be held in two sessions on the same day.
• Negative Marking: 1 mark deducted for every wrong answer in Section-I, II and III.
• Qualifying all sections of Tier-II is mandatory.

Skill Test/Typing Test Standard

• DEO Skill Test: 15,000 key depressions per hour (specific departments) or 8,000 key depressions per hour (other departments).
• LDC/JSA Typing Test: 35 words per minute in English OR 30 words per minute in Hindi.
