The Directorate of Public Instruction (Lok Shiksha Sanchalnalaya), Chhattisgarh has released the CG SAGES Recruitment 2026 notice for 1812 contractual posts in Swami Atmanand Utkrisht English Medium Schools across all 33 districts of the state. The posts include Lecturer, Headmaster, Assistant Teacher, Teacher, PE Teacher, Librarian, Computer Teacher and Laboratory Assistant. Eligible candidates from Chhattisgarh can apply online on eduportal.cg.nic.in from 01 October 2026 to 21 October 2026. Selection will be done through a Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted in English medium.

Application Rules to Remember

• Only online applications are accepted. Offline, registered post or courier applications will be rejected.
• A candidate can submit up to 7 separate applications if eligible for different posts.
• Lecturer applicants can apply for only one subject. Applying for more than one lecturer subject makes the application invalid.

Reservation Rules

• 30% posts are reserved for women (horizontal reservation), with preference to widows and divorced women.
• 7% reservation for persons with disabilities, as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016.
• Reservation for ex-servicemen and SC/ST/OBC follows Chhattisgarh government rules. A valid permanent caste certificate is required.

CG SAGES Recruitment 2026 | Education Qualification

For all posts except Hindi and Sanskrit Lecturer/Teacher, the candidate must have studied in English medium from Class 6 up to the final degree. Qualifications must be completed by the last date of online application. TET is also required for teaching posts as stated below.

Lecturer

• Master’s degree in the concerned subject from a recognized university with at least second class, plus B.Ed.
• Subjects: Hindi, English, Sanskrit (or Classics/Acharya), Geography, Economics, History, Political Science/Public Administration, Social Science, Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Biology/related life sciences, Commerce, Chemistry/Biochemistry, Physics/Electronics/Applied or Nuclear Physics.

Headmaster (Primary School)

• Higher Secondary (12th) with at least 45% marks plus D.Ed. / D.El.Ed.
• TET (Primary level) passed.

Headmaster (Middle School)

• Graduation with at least 45% marks plus D.Ed. / B.Ed. / D.El.Ed.
• TET (Middle level) passed.

Assistant Teacher

• Higher Secondary (12th) with at least 45% marks plus D.Ed. / D.El.Ed.
• TET (Primary level) passed.

Teacher (Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Social Science, Science, Mathematics)

• Graduation with the required subjects plus D.Ed. / B.Ed. / D.El.Ed. (45% marks needed for most subjects).
• TET (Middle level) passed.
• English teacher: English literature as one subject at graduation level.
• Social Science teacher: at least one of History, Geography, Economics or Political Science at graduation level.
• Science teacher: any two of Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geology (and related).
• Mathematics teacher: Mathematics plus any two of Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science, Statistics, Geology.

PE Teacher

• 12th pass and graduation with D.P.Ed. or B.P.Ed.

Librarian

• Graduation with at least second class and a B.Lib. degree.

Computer Teacher

• Graduation in Computer Science / IT / Computer Applications with at least second class.

Laboratory Assistant

• 12th pass from a recognized board with Biology or Mathematics group.

Other Eligibility Conditions

• Candidate must be a native (mool niwasi) of Chhattisgarh with a valid certificate from the competent authority.
• Existing SAGES contractual staff cannot apply for the same post. They can apply only for a higher post and must submit an affidavit.
• Government or PSU employees must submit a No Objection Certificate from their employer.

CG SAGES Recruitment 2026 | Selection Process

The selection will be based on a Computer Based Test (CBT). The test will be held in English medium and may be conducted on different dates and shifts depending on the number of applicants.

Steps in Selection

• Step 1: Apply online on the education portal.
• Step 2: Appear in the CBT as per the admit card.
• Step 3: Selection list is prepared on the basis of CBT results.
• Step 4: Document verification. Candidates absent on the verification day will be treated as ineligible.
• Step 5: Medical examination for selected disabled candidates, and police verification of character.

Merit List and Waiting List

• The selection list is valid for 6 months from the date of release.
• A waiting list of up to 25% of vacancies in each category will also be made, valid for 9 months.

Contract Terms

• Initial contract period is one year, which may be extended based on performance.
• Either side can end the contract with 3 months’ notice or 3 months’ pay in lieu.
• Contractual staff are not eligible for pension, annual increment or regular government employee benefits.
• Appointments are subject to the final order of the Supreme Court in SLP(C) No. 019668/2022.

CG SAGES Recruitment 2026 | Salary Pay Scale

Selected candidates will get a fixed monthly honorarium. No DA, HRA, compensatory allowance or yearly increment is given during the contract.

CG SAGES Recruitment 2026 | Exam Pattern

The recruitment exam is a Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted in English medium. The department has not yet shared the detailed exam pattern, such as the number of questions, marks, duration, negative marking and syllabus, in this notice.

• Chhattisgarh native (mool niwasi) or local residence certificate
• Educational qualification certificates and mark sheets (10th, 12th, graduation, post graduation, as applicable)
• B.Ed. / D.Ed. / D.El.Ed. / D.P.Ed. / B.P.Ed. / B.Lib. certificate as required for the post
• TET certificate (Primary or Middle level) for teaching posts
• Proof of English medium education from Class 6 onwards (not needed for Hindi and Sanskrit posts)
• Permanent caste certificate for SC / ST / OBC candidates. Married SC/ST women must submit the certificate with father’s name.
• Disability certificate for PwD candidates
• Ex-serviceman documents, if claiming that reservation
• No Objection Certificate for government, PSU, bank, private or university employees
• Affidavit by existing SAGES contractual staff stating they have not applied for the same post
