Selection Process

SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Overview of the Selection Process
The selection for this Special Recruitment Drive for SBI Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) will be completed in three main stages. There will be no interview. The entire selection will be based on your performance in the written examinations and document verification.
Main Rule: Clearing every stage is mandatory to move to the next stage. If you miss out on any stage, your candidature will come to an end.

Phase I: Preliminary Examination
Purpose: Only for Screening — these marks will not be added to the Final Merit.
What Happens: This is an online objective test of a qualifying nature. From all the candidates who appear in this, the Bank will select approximately 10 times the number of vacancies (as per the number of vacancies) for the Main Examination. Selection will be done in descending order based on total marks.
Condition to Move Forward: There are no fixed minimum qualifying marks in this stage. The Bank will call a suitable number of candidates for the next stage at its discretion for each category.

Phase II: Main Examination
Purpose: Decisive — the Final Merit List will be prepared based on this.
What Happens: This is also an online objective test, but this is your real examination. Your future will be decided solely based on the total marks obtained in this. Marks of the Preliminary Examination will not be added here.
Condition to Move Forward: You will have to obtain the minimum qualifying marks (on aggregate) as decided by the Bank. SBI trainee apprentices (who are eligible) will get 5 bonus marks added to their total score.
Provisional Selection: Candidates who are successful in the Main Examination will be declared “Provisionally Selected.” They will now be called for the next stage.

Phase III: Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)
Purpose: This is the final threshold — qualifying here is mandatory.
Who Needs to Appear:
