The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) has issued a fresh recruitment notification inviting online applications for the post of Stipendiary Cadet Trainee (SCT) Assistant Sub Inspector, Fingerprint Bureau, under the Telangana Police Department. The notification, bearing reference number Rc. No. 279/Rect./Rect-3/2026, was released on 29th July 2026 and carries Post Code 33. A total of 23 vacancies have been announced across the state’s contiguous police zones. This is a technical recruitment meant specifically for candidates holding a background in Computer Science, IT or related specializations, and unlike some other police posts, this recruitment does not involve a preliminary written test. Telangana Police ASI Recruitment 2026 : Application Fee

The exact fee amount payable will be displayed to candidates on the TSLPRB online application portal itself, based on the post(s) selected, and can be paid using Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking. A few important points related to fee are worth noting:

• OC and BC category candidates (with Telangana local status) pay the standard fee shown on the portal.
• SC and ST candidates who are local to Telangana State pay a concessional fee.
• All other candidates pay the fee as displayed in the online application.
• Candidates applying for more than one post among the five related TSLPRB notifications released on 29-07-2026 (SI Civil, SCT ASI-FPB, PC Civil, PC Mechanic, PC Driver) are eligible for a fee rebate for each additional post applied for — ₹50 per additional post for local SC/ST candidates and ₹100 per additional post for all other candidates.
• Once paid, the application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Telangana Police ASI Recruitment 2026 : Age Limit

As on 1st July 2026, a candidate must have completed 21 years of age but must not have crossed 25 years of age. However, the Telangana Government has separately extended the upper age limit for uniformed services (including Police) by an additional 5 years, over and above this limit.

Age Relaxation Table

Only the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or an equivalent Matriculation certificate will be accepted as proof of date of birth — no other document such as affidavits or horoscopes will be considered.

Category Wise

A total of 23 vacancies have been notified for the post of SCT ASI (Fingerprint Bureau) across Telangana. The category-wise breakup is as follows:

Additionally, 33⅓% of vacancies in every category (including EWS) are horizontally reserved for women candidates, and 95% of the notified vacancies will be filled from local candidates of the respective zones.

Candidates must hold any one of the following qualifications as on the date of the notification (29th July 2026):

• B.E. / B.Tech in Information Technology or Computer Science, OR
• B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Science with specialization in Artificial Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Data Science, Networks, Cyber Security, or Internet of Things, OR
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or Computer Applications, OR
• Any other equivalent qualification, awarded by a recognized university in India.

Candidates holding a higher qualification than the one prescribed above will also be considered eligible. The final degree certificate, provisional certificate, or consolidated marks memo must be produced at the time of Certificate Verification.

Telangana Police ASI Recruitment 2026 : Selection Process

Selection for the post of SCT ASI (FPB) follows a multi-stage process. Since there is no preliminary written test for this technical post, the process moves directly through the following stages:

1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Running Event Men must complete the 1600-meter run within 7 minutes 15 seconds (9 minutes 30 seconds for Ex-Servicemen), while women must complete an 800-meter run within 5 minutes 20 seconds.
2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT) – Height
   • Men: minimum 162 cm (160 cm for ST/Aboriginal Tribe candidates from notified Agency areas)
   • Women: minimum 152.5 cm (150 cm for ST/Aboriginal Tribe candidates from notified Agency areas)
3. Long Jump and Shot-Put (qualifying in nature)
   • Long Jump: 4 meters (men-general), 3.5 meters (men Ex-Servicemen), 2.5 meters (women)
   • Shot-Put: 6 meters (men), 4 meters (women)
4. Final Written Examination – three papers as detailed in the Exam Pattern section below.
5. Certificate Verification – original documents are checked for candidates who qualify in the written exam.

Final merit is decided based on the combined marks of Paper II and Paper III only; Paper I (English) is qualifying in nature. In case two or more candidates score equal marks, preference goes to the candidate who was born earlier.

Telangana Police ASI Recruitment 2026 : Salary / Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be appointed as Stipendiary Cadet Trainees (SCT) and will draw a pay scale of ₹33,750 – ₹99,310 during and after successful completion of training. During the institutional training period, candidates are paid a stipend as fixed by the Government from time to time. On successful completion of training, they are appointed to the regular post of Assistant Sub Inspector (Fingerprint Bureau).

The Final Written Examination consists of three papers, all conducted for three hours each:

• Qualifying marks in each paper: 40% for OC/EWS, 35% for BC, 30% for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen.

• Wrong answers in objective sections attract 25% negative marking.

Step 1: Registration Visit www.tgprb.in and register using your mobile number as your User ID. This number will remain your login credential throughout the recruitment process, so keep it active and accessible.

Step 2: Select Post & Pay Fee Choose the notification and post you wish to apply for. The applicable fee will be displayed automatically. Pay using Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.

Step 3: Fill Part-I Application After payment, log in again to complete Part-I of the application form. Upload your combined photo + signature file in JPG format (30 KB–100 KB).

Step 4: Submit and Download Read all instructions carefully, agree to the declaration, confirm using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number, and submit the form. Download the submitted form as a PDF for future reference. No corrections are allowed after submission.

Step 5: Part-II Application At a later stage — after the SI Civil preliminary written test concludes — candidates will need to log in again to submit the Part-II application along with scanned copies of required certificates.

Step 6: Attend PMT/PET and Written Exam Based on the Intimation Letter and Hall Ticket issued by TSLPRB, attend the Physical Measurement/Efficiency Test followed by the Final Written Examination.
